I’m tired and I’m angry and I’m gonna say this once:

It is not anyone’s responsibility to share personal medical information with strangers on the internet if they do not want to or feel it is irrelevant

Point blank

If they feel like it wasn’t relative and you want to correct what you feel was misrepresented and make sure they understand where they’re coming from, that’s fine

But after you’ve been given some context, if you continue to insist that they owed you/the Internet private information about themselves that they didn’t share for a reason, you are invading their privacy and disrespecting boundaries

The only people entitled to someone’s medical information are the people to whom that information belongs and any medical professionals that need that information to treat you properly. If the person chooses to share that information, you can have it. But you are not entitled to it and they are not obligated or responsible for sharing it

Other things besides medical information that you are not entitled to are: someone else’s gender, sexuality, SSN, family recipes, car license plate number/registration, childhood traumas, or any other information that they feel is irrelevant or too personal to share with nameless, faceless entities on the internet

I’m pissed I can’t believe I have to make this post how entitled do you have to be to demand that someone disclose their mental health history and struggles when they chose not to? it was invasive and inappropriate the internet has DESTROYED some people’s understanding of boundaries if they ever had any understanding of them at all

katara and aang in the new children’s book from avatar studios, heart of a hero! katara explains that aang helped her find her inner strength, and that she is aang’s source of light:

“Deep down, Aang had the heart of a hero - he was brave, kind, and peaceful. But he needed help to discover it. A little guidance. A word of encouragement. Someone to light the way.”

“Aang helped us find our inner strength too. When others didn’t believe me, Aang cheered me on as I stood up for myself and proved them wrong.”

once again proving how mutual katara and aang’s love and adoration is for each other <3

But it does.

It does… one at a time.  It’d be useful to be able to select more than one. G&T but not higher, M&E only, everything but E for those who just don’t like smut. (btw I just checked and there is none of the exclusion filters showing on the search page at least in my computer)

AO3 does ‘and’ filters.

You don’t filter for M&E. You filter for not the other stuff.

I have never seen so many users clearly baffled by and too skittish to push buttons/toggles that are very clearly meant to be used.

If a trusted website has a button and you don’t immediately know or understand what it does, push it. Check out every drop down, every link, every configuration imaginable. Be adventurous. Fuck around and find out. If it breaks the website, they shouldn’t have had that button in the first place. Not on you. Indulge your curiosity instead of complaining it doesn’t do something it absolutely does if you poke around a little.

You’re not going to get a bad grade in filtering by using interface features from AO3, I promise.

Look, there are library systems that don’t have filters as good as AO3. You have to learn how to use Boolean operators (AND OR NOT) and construct a proper query to exclude in several academic databases, and AO3 just performs “NOT” for you by clicking a button.

Do you know how many grad students would love to have the kind of power you have with AO3 in filters?

Ao3 filters are amazing. You can filter out ratings, you can filter out characters or pairings, you can filter out specific tags (as long as it’s an official tag)! (Type it in under “other tags to exclude”)

This is why the antis complaining about seeing content they don’t like on Ao3 is so frustrating. If something squicks you out, filter it, and you never have to see it again! Voila! Or even if it is just something you don’t like. I have High School AUs filtered out because I just don’t like them! It’s an amazing system and makes it so easy to curate your experience.

btw, happy pride to all ace people who aren’t sex-positive and/or have very strict boundaries about things/aren’t up for sexual topics/talks and such

(happy pride to the rest of aces too!)

I just feel like there’s so much push to make aces more… “likable” by saying “well a lot of aces ENJOY sexual stuff, they just don’t wanna have that themselves!”. And like, that’s valid! But I guess some of us aces aren’t as easy to market to allos and we also deserve to be around, y'know :“)

I’ve been pushed a lot/labelled a prude/told I was "boring” because I didn’t want to get into explicit conversations, RPs or draw certain things, and like. Nah. I’m fucking tired of that. Some aces are okay with these topics, some aces aren’t, but if you claim to accept and understand asexuality, you need to respect all of us, not only the aces you think that are “more fun” or “more natural”.

so yeah. happy pride to all aces, even those people deem unnatural!

Here’s a Spider-Verse style challenge I finished recently! I drew a few characters in the styles of different animated series. I don’t think I nailed everything but it was fun to draw everyone, one at a time.

“The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain.”

It’s midnight here, so happy disability pride month to my fellow disableds, the chronically ill, and also to the temporarily abled.

If your activism doesn’t include disability, you’re sure as fuck going to wish it did.

Nothing about us without us ♿👊

As we are, so you will be. All health and ability is temporary.
